"Students Do Well If They Can"
Middle Years Programs
Grade 7 to Grade 9
We offer two Programs to this group of students:
Middle Years Learning Centre
Kelowna Learning Centre @ Central School

About the Program

At the Learning Centre, we offer an alternate program for students in grade 9 who are typically between the ages of 15 to 16 years old.  Students not currently enrolled or attending school can contact Ryan Ward (Vice Principal) at (250) 870-5120 ext.0.   Students currently enrolled at their local school are referred to us by the administrators of the local school.  Students can also be directed to a Learning Centre by the District Suspension Review Committee or by the Director of Student Support Services.

Students attending are typically at risk of dropping out of school or find the more traditional regular school unable to meet their learning needs. Students are given an academic achievement assessment (Woodcock Johnson) before an individual plan can be established and they can start attending class.

Successful students in our school typically move on to our Grade 10 Program, return to a local school, or enter the work force.
